Camper restoration update 1

Last post i teased a new project. In this post i will show you some more progress on the project and tell you a bit more about it. Of course i also have pictures, i know most of you got tiktok brains.

First step was to tear down the old tree frame. It was rotten and needed to be replaced. We also had to remove the old floor and the old insulation.

After the teardown we had to make a new frame. This one also made from wood. We used the old frame as a template and made a new one. The new frame is a bit more sturdy since we used thicker wood. It looks real snazzy now!

While the frame and floor was torn down, this was a good time to check the condition of the chassis. The was a nightmare, lots of rust and old half-assed repairs which did not hold up. We found lots of holes an made lots of patches!

After the rust repairs were done we painted the chassis with rust protection paint and coated the chassis with a couple of layers of underbody protection. This will help protect the chassis from rocks and other debris and hopefully make it last longer.

We also installed new floor with insulation.
