Ready to hit the road!

#car#restoration#fiat

Last time i wrote about the car, i had just started the restoration. Now i have finally finished the car and it is now road legal. It was not easy, lots of nagging problems came out of nowhere every time i fixed something. But now it is done and i am happy with the result.

Fiat Marea in the sunshine

Last weekend we had our first longer maiden voyage with the car. We drove to Thansen in Middelfart to pick up parts for a new project… More on that later.

All was good, and then the fuel needle started dropping rapidly. In a span of minutes it dropped from full to half empty. I was quite worried, but there was nothing i could do, i was stuck on the motorway. When we arrived at our destination i switched the car off and on again, and the needle returned to the correct position. Italian electrics, what can i say.

Car for sale

Now that i have new daily driver and i have WAYYY too many cars, i will be putting the old daily up for sale. If anyone is interested, do not hesitate to contact me. Currently via email or signal.

The new project

As i teased earlier, i have a new project. This time it’s a joint project with 3 other friends and a very tight deadline. We have bought a camper and we are going to use for our summer vacation trip down through Germany, Austria, Italy etc. As far away as we can manage in 1 week.

The camper is a 1978 Volkswagen LT 35. It has a 2.0 liter petrol engine and a 4 speed manual gearbox. It is not in the best condition, all of the interior has been ripped out and it needs a new frame. Lots of work to be done, but we are hopeful we can make it.

I am almost too excited about this project, and i will try to keep you updated on the progress, but my track record thus far does not enstill much confidence. But i will try :)
